Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, Sri Lanka, the tropical paradise, and be warmly greeted by our courteous staff who will garland you on arrival before transferring to a hotel in Colombo.

Day 02
Breakfast at the hotel, visit the city of Colombo.
Colombo, the Commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Like many capital cities in developing countries Colombo is fast changing its face. In no time, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood, yet in some parts; the old world charm is retained.
Embark on a shopping spree until you drop in the famous Colombo shopping malls placing your hands on world famous brands at unbelievable prices. Also you could visit several landmarks in Colombo while you shop for example; there is a 100-year-
Old clock tower and several British built, colonial buildings, which still attract all of us. Other places of interest are, the Pettah bazaar, where one can shop for bargains, Hindu and Buddhist temples, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Colombo museum, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference hall an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the people's republic of china, the new parliament in Sri Jayawardenapura and the folk art centre.

Day 03
After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Dambulla, en route visit the city of Negombo.
Negombo a characteristic fishing town north of Colombo, which is a mere 6 km from the international airport. Set amidst lush groves of coconut palms, it breathes the spirit of the sea. Negombo is a gourmets paradise with seafood in plenty. Old - world fishing craft, like the outrigger canoe and the catamaran, bring seer, skipjack, herring, mullet, pomfret and amber jack, while lobster and prawn are caught in the lagoon.
Dambulla rock temple is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king Valagambahu took refuge in the 01st century B.C. He later turned the caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceilings found here are over 2,000 years old and is the largest area of paintings found in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.

Day 04
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Polonnaruwa. The ancient capital rose to prominence as Sri Lanka's capital from the 10th century to the 12th century AD and boasts many ancient ruins and sites including the three fine sculptures of a seated, standing and recumbent Buddha. The city is beautiful with parks and gardens and sanctified by many a shrine and sacred place. The city itself as well as the surrounding plain was watered by a unique irrigational complex known as the sea of Parakrama (Parakrama Samudra) so vast was its scale.
Thereafter proceed to Sigiriya, the lion rock of Sri Lanka, which is known as the eight wonder of the world. . A rock fortress where king Kashyapa built his fortified palace atop and around a 183 m rocky outcrop in the 5th century. Sigiriya is best known today for the paintings of beautiful women found on a sheltered ledge on the side of the rock. These are considered as being part of the world's art treasures. On the summit are the remains of the vast palace of Kashyapa, complete with bathing pool and platforms for dancing girls. The UNESCO-sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya's 5th century Water Gardens to its former glory.

Day 05
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Kandy. Situated 115 km North-East of Colombo set in hills around an artificial lake and probably the most beautiful town in Sri Lanka
Visit the Sacred tooth relic of Buddha.
Kandy's main attraction is the Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th c. A.D., the sacred relic has ever since been the symbol of sovereignty for its rulers and always enshrined in great splendour. Kandy's Dalada Maligawa is a magnificent shrine, with decorative walls, moat, turrets, golden roof and fine woodwork and its 16th & 19th century ambience vividly alive.
Also visit a spice garden and a batik factory in Matale.

Day 06
Breakfast at the hotel. Thereafter excursion to visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, the home for young Elephants who have been displaced or lost from their natural habitat. This is the only such sanctuary in the world; you will watch the beasts gambolling in the water and being fed their quota of milk from handheld bottles.
Late in the evening view the Kandyan cultural performance, three religious services (pooja) with traditional music, held daily at dawn.

Day 09
Breakfast at the hotel, explore the city of Kandy.
Kandy. This is, perhaps Sri Lanka's most beautiful town. Set 488 meters above sea level, and next to Colombo, Kandy is Sri Lanka's most visited place. The focal point of the town is the golden-roofed Dalada Maligawa, where the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined. There are numerous shrines and temples in and around Kandy, where you will see rare paintings, frescoes, and stone carvings.

Day 08
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Nuwaraeliya, Sri Lanka's picturesque hill resort over 6,000 feet above sea level, renowned for its perennial spring like climate with stunning water falls and rolling hills carpeted by tea plantations.
En route visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya where you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide and rare collection of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid house with the largest collection in Asia.

Nuwaraeliya set in the heart of tea-country, this beautiful town is where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from Georgian to Queen Anne. Bridle paths will take you to the precipice known as World's End - a sheer drop of 1,050 meters. Acres and acres of tea with its lush green foliage extend miles across the hills, and no visit to the hill country is complete without a visit to a tea estate, and the chance to purchase some of the world's finest flavoured tea.

Day 10
After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Hambantota, situated in extreme south-east of Sri Lanka. Stop at Ella. The view from Ella gap is one of the most spectacular scenic sights in Sri Lanka. The landscape falls away in a dizzy drop of 3000 feet to the eastern plains.

Day 11
After breakfast at the hotel, excursion to Yala National park.
The elephant is undoubtedly the best known attraction at Yala, seen in small & large herds. Herds of spotted deer are seen all over the park. Monkeys the pinkish rhesus and the grey faced Langur monkey, live and play on the tree tops and the ground below. Wild buffalo & wild boar could give a good surprise & the sight of a leopard sunning itself or drinking water at a water hole could be memorable experience. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, and king-fisher & wood pecker are some of the birds can be seen in the park.

Day 12
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Kalutara. En route visit the city of Galle.
In this costal town, the Dutch presence is still visible. Galle was an ancient port (said to be the legendary Tarshish of the Bible), and our first international commerce and trade centre. Today, Galle is the bustling provincial capital and administrative centre of the south. It is famous for its lovely Unawatuna Bay, where the sea is reef protected and therefore safe for swimming. The old Dutch Star fort (a World Heritages Site) covering 36 hectares, the well-preserved Groote Kerk (Dutch Church), Dutch Government House, the New Oriental Hotel (built in 1684) old bell tower and a tide-based Sewage-System, also introduced by the Dutch. In Galle they still make the Dutch pillo-lace and do fine ebony carving and gem polishing.

More or less synonymous with rush and reed ware, (try to visit the permanent exhibition in the town's Basket Hall), Kalutara was also a famous spice-centre in the 16th to 18th centuries. There are fine beaches safe for swimming. Immediately south of the Kalu Ganga (River) Bridge on the main road is the Gangatil Vihara, which has a hollow dagoba (Buddhist shrine) with an interesting painted terior. By the roadside there's a small shrine and the Bo tree where drivers often stop to make offerings to ensure a safe journey to Kalutara.
